SERIES ONE: DAY TWO (Afternoon)
With Lachy crackin’ the absolute **************, Elisabeth was left to her own devices on the shore as the fleet hit the water for one final race for the day. The breeze was SUBLIME, was the general vibe as the Hobie Family came to shore, with Elisabeth capturing all the action. Flat water, consistent breeze and blue skies; it didn’t stop the Hobie 16s getting two general recalls before they finally started. Sincere apologies to the Hobie 18 fleet.
SERIES ONE: DAY THREE (Beach Volley Ball)
Where there wasn’t wind, there was plenty of action on the shore as Rowdy’s beach games kicked off in style with a big game of beach volleyball featuring sailors from all across the country. Breaking into four red hot teams, the teams went toe to toe for a do or die competition.
SERIES ONE: DAY THREE (Afternoon)
It was do or die out on the water, with changes in the leaderboard up and down the ladder. Once they were changed and refreshed, Paddy & Elisabeth hit the rigging lawn to chat with the Hobie Family after the penultimate day of racing in Series One. Stay tuned for tomorrows final day, with up to five races on the cards, and a cut off time of 330pm, who knows what could happen…
SERIES ONE: DAY FOUR (Presentation)
It’s Preso’ night for Series One at the 52nd Australian Hobie Cat National Championships, and Paddy & Elisabeth are there to capture all the action. After a gruelling last race of the series, the TITV Team decided it best not to chat to the sailors as they hit the shore, with many of the fleet suffering in the conditions. However, as the afternoon evolved and the fleet had some time to comprehend the final results, TITV were in the rigging lawn to chat with all the sailors as they began the festivities for New Year’s Eve.
SERIES TWO: DAY ONE (Lunch)
It was a tough first session for the sailors of Series Two, here in McCrae for the Australian Hobie Cat National Championships. Four races were held in the morning session, and Paddy & Elisabeth hit the rigging lawn as the fleet were having lunch, prepping for two races in the afternoon. With shifty, tricky and flukey off shore conditions at times, it was all to play for on the race course. Stay tuned for more action to come.
SERIES TWO: DAY ONE (Afternoon)
It might’ve only been two races in the afternoon session, but two three-lappers were enough to push the fleet over the edge, as the Hobie Family hit the shore of McCrae after almost seven hours on the water in total. With marginal breeze forecasted for the next couple of days, Paddy & Elisabeth hit the lawn to chat with the sailors after the provisional results were posted and the leaderboard was locked in.
SERIES TWO: DAY TWO (Afternoon)
There’s plenty on today in McCrae, as the temperature continues to rise and the wind begins to fade. The fleet were out on the water for more than three hours, with a single raced held during that time. As the Hobie Family hit the shore for lunch, Paddy & Elisabeth were there to capture the antics of the sailors, particular the rascals from Somers as they made the rigging lawn their playground…
SERIES TWO: DAY THREE (Morning)
it’s a hot one in McCrae today! The race committee sent the fleet out in a steady northerly right at 10am; however the wind soon began to drop as the temperature begin to rise. With 9 races now in the books, Paddy, Lachy & Elisabeth hit the rigging lawn to get an idea of what the Director of Fun, Rowdy, has planned for the Hobie Family as the hurry up and wait protocol has been activated.
SERIES TWO: DAY THREE (Beach Roller Billy-Cart Racing)
THIS IS THE GREATEST REGATTA OF THE AUSTRALIAN SUMMER!! By far Rowdy’s greatest invention yet, the beach roller billy-kart was an absolute hit with the Hobie Family, along with all the punters on the beach at McCrae. With Rowdy’s dulcet tones, backed by rock ‘n’ roll, set the regatta on fire as sailors and non-sailors were brought together to watch the wildest action since the 50th Hobie Nationals. Sit back and enjoy the live action!
SERIES TWO: DAY TWO (Afternoon)
